5 Great Construction Marketing Sites

OK, eveyone loves a list. Here’s my list of 5 great construction marketing resources online.

1. Contractor Talk

Sometimes you have to wade through emotional rants and flamers, but there is a world of knowledge and experience to be found here. If you don’t already live there, move in.

2. Construction Marketing Ideas Blog

Mark Buckshon never slacks off when it comes to posting on his blog. He is thorough and he strives for excellence.

3. Remodelers Advantage

I’ve seen the quality and integrity of this organization first hand from the inside. And they have some free marketing resources for you to peruse at your leisure.

4. Google Keyword Tool

Look, if you do any online marketing at all, you better get up close and personal with this tool. Though not specific to the construction industy, this tool IS market research. Offline, a market is a complicated beast that’s not always easy to tame. On the internet however, KEYWORDS ARE MARKETS. Know the ins and outs of your keywords, and you know your online market.

5. Meetup.com

Just find a group and show up. Personally I dislike networking, but every time I go to one of these Meetup events I end up booking 2 or 3 appointments just by talking about what I do. It’s crazy easy.

There are a lot of great sites out there you can use to advance your skills. But these are sites I scour every single day if I can help it. Happy marketing to you.

    Great list!

I use Contractor talk frequently (sometimes not enough).
I have had the privilege to meet Mark Buckshon here in Raleigh and we spoke about my fence blog (http://raleighfencecontractors.com), the construction industry and what I hoped to gain from my blog.
I am working on another project (as if I didn’t already have enough!) to try to help contractors, realtors, and developers to break into the blogosphere. We will be designing blog sites, helping with SEO, branding, microblogging, and other types of social networking.
    Keep up the great work!
