Here’s a unique video from All Business and Meridian Builders about what it’s like to be a general contractor from a woman’s perspective.

Robin Wilson talks about interviewing new employees and how she “knows right away whether they will click…whether the candidate will be able to take orders from me.” In all my interviewing experience over the years, I find that statement to be true whether you’re a man or a woman.

“Take orders” may be a little strong of a term. I would just settle for “clear communication”. And eye contact counts.

For example, don’t wear your mirror-lens sunglasses through the entire interview, champ.
